I was on my page updating some new books i have read and thought i would see if you had anything exciting added to yours :) I noticed the post below from Jan K, and checked out "Garlic and Sapphires", I loved that book! I wish more of my friends would get on here and i could see what they are reading, I am just starting "Goose Girl" one of your recomendations. Hope all is well up there! Hugs - Michele
I just finished Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross.....couldn't put it down! "A Year in Provence" was a quick, fun read.......as was "Garlic & Sapphires" by Ruth Reichl, the New York Times food critic for some years. I'm almost through with the first in the Mitford series "At Home in Mitford". Very enjoyable, and will look forward to reading more!
Who is John Dunning? I haven't heard of him. Currently I am reading Montesquieu's The Spirit of the Laws. Taking a bit of time with that one. Next I think I am going to tackle Locke. It is interesting to read these and see the philosophical basis for our Constitution and the thought process of the Founding Fathers.
The Lost Symbol isn't out yet, you can preorder it from Amazon, or Barnes and Noble. I haven't done that yet. I'm going to see how long the line is at the library first!
Good question... I thought we where too, I thought I had even accepted you as a friend... I don't know what the issue is? I will try to look into it...
You need to read Guns, Germs & Steel by Jared Diamond
