Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!

Love your avatar. And our shelf choices. How was the Colette book? She has one of my favorite quotes, that cats have an honorable deception. Welcome to WS.

    Hi Diane-
I'm trying to finish my America book before I leave for vacation tomorrow. Won't have internet access and don't get back until Tues. So, if the next leg has started before then, I'll try to catch up when I get back....yikes! Don't know what you have planned for leg #4 or what kind of time you have, but I don't know if I'll be able to help us there! Like I said in my previous note, I'll take Ireland for Leg #4 since I already have the book at home and can begin as soon as I get home, if it's started! Good luck!

I see you have John Adams on your shelf. I wanted to invite you to visit the Chronological Read of American History Group. We are reading presidential biographies in order. We just finished John Adams. Hope to see you there.

I need to change my pick for leg #4. I'll do Ireland, since I have a book already with that tag. I put an africa book on hold at the library but don't know when it will come in. I'll be in touch again, but I am going away on vacation Sat. and returning Tues. Since I'll be camping, not sure if I'll have internet access....don't know what leg of the race we'll be up to, but I may not be able to help us out then! :( Again, will keep you updated!

    Diane--
Yes, there are really fast readers here, so the competitions go by so fast! That's why it's hard to me to participate during the school year if it's a speed challenge! Anyway, I have books for both France and japan, but I'll read the France one first, and you can start Japan, if that's alright! Your antique business sounds fascinating! I'm sure there's a ton of work that goes into it.

Good luck getting it all lined up! Maybe some books will overlap between reading commitments? I always aim for that, if possible. :-) But of course, it's not always possible. Hope you enjoy it, anyway!

    Hi Diane-
Sorry, I never got your note. :( It will be easier if you e-mail me at loves2teach03@yahoo.com, because I don't check shelfari as much as I would like to. England and China - I need to review the rules of the game again, but I think we each have to choose one of the countries, correct? Darn, I just finished reading Shanghai Girls too! If you have a preference for a country, let me know and then I'll find a book from the other one. I don't have need to read it books for either one, so I'll just look under the tag and find something that I think that I'll like. Yes, I'm a teacher. This will be my 8th year in Sept. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Diane. I'm from the Author Author group and wanted to welcome you to our group. July’s "featured" author is Alice Hoffman, and we have two "secondary" authors, Mary Higgins Clark and David Baldacci. If you're interested, you can choose a book written by any (or all!) of these three authors, and after you've read it, please come post a review and star rating so the rest of us in the group know what you read and whether you liked it or not. Happy Reading!

I'm sure you know the drill from PBT. Of course, we've also just announced the August authors, so you'll probably want to start there. Welcome!

Hi Diane--Silvana mentioned you were having issues with your avatar in the group discussions. Looking at the group, your image appears correctly. Are there discussion posts you made that show someone else's avatar? If so, can you give me the first sentence of these posts so I can look into it further. Thanks! Amanda

I went to the Bibliophile page and its avatar is displayed on the page, then I went to your page, and your avatar is there. The only time that your avatar is replaced by someone elses is when for example you post a note in the discussions threads, but let me check with Amanda from the Shefari Group Admins. She is the person to contact iwhen there there is a technical problem in Shelfari. Thank for bringing this up Diane. I see what I can do, All the best, Silvana

Thank you so much for your help. I apologize for not responding. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate these boards. By the way, I received a Kindle for my birthday and I can not put it down. It is amazing!
