And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

The Colorado Plateau chapter was fantastic (I used to live in New Mexico), but my favorite was the chapter on the Owens Valley and Mono Lake -- my current neck of the woods. "Hidden West" was my first introduction to Schultheis, and it was quite accidental; I stumbled upon it in a used bookstore in Bishop, CA (a town in which, I later learned, he has spent some time) while I was trying to find Gretel Ehrlich for a friend's birthday. I will look for "Night Letters" -- thanks.
