I'm reading Cannery Row. There's not much of a plot, but it's interesting and short. Im writing an analytical paper on how the style Salinger uses is compatible with the concepts of the novel.

hahaha, thats terrific. hm, holden... i think he's rubbed off on me a bit. but i dont much like him, to be honest. hes too negative. im a fairly optimistic person, but after and during certain books with narrators who have distinct personalities and styles, i tend to adopt their dialect in my mind. its really weird and sometimes annoying. so i suppose for the next few days or so i'll be referring to everything as 'phony' and think phrases like 'goddamn' 'sonovabitch' and 'if you want to know the truth.' i need a new book to read... haha.

Steve,Thanks, I'll save Tree and Smoke for later read. I think I'll begin with Jesus Son first. By he way, Desjoyeaux wins 2nd Vendee Globe, sailing solo around the world in 84 days 3 hours 9minutes and 8 seconds. Jourdain in second place more than a 1000 nautical miles behind. Wow!

We recently finished reading Anthem by Ayn Rand in english. It was definietly one of my favorites. She isn't someone I would want to follow, but she's an excellent writer.
