Larry, regarding the Medieval Mysteries group: I'd love for you to pick a book that you like a lot for a group read. The group may be just you and me, but let'd do it anyway. I have no suggestions, but maybe something that might not be on everyone's list of faves (no Bro. Cadfael, for example). Maybe choose the book with the next week or two for discussion mid-October?
Let me know if you will do this...Ta.

Hi, I think you have better used book stores than we have over here. I have enjoyed every book so far and the last one is The Double Comfort Safari Club. in hardback. We get them as cheaply as we can. I see there are a few more books we have in common too. You can peruse my shelf if you wish. I usually do when asked for a friendship to see if I have anything in common with the asker(?)
I shall be reading Janet Evanocich's latest shortly. My daughter buys them, and I get to read them.

Thank you, Larry. You are actually the only one that responded in the positive. I was about to send out another note. And you are right about them being cyclical...I myself was away for awhile.

Best to you. See you in the group.

Hi there, I see you have read Tears of the Giraffe. I have all Alexander McCall Smith 'N0o 1 Ladies Deteive Agebcy series, cannot wait each Feb. for them to be published. Have you read any more of them.? I think they shpw a great insight into a small African country, in a subtle way but enjoyable. Every time i read one I can smell thr African dust of the Kalahari.

Hi Larry. I appreciate your participation in the Words/Quotes Group. In an attempt to lure back past members, I sent a group message that was to be delivered to all members of the group. I am trying to find out if anyone actually received it! Please let me know if you got it or not.

    Thank you.

Welcome, Larry! I am so glad. I too am attracted tot he lone wolf figure,. though this is the first time I've thought of Hawk and Spenser (and Sunny and Jesse too) that way. I always seem to read the books out fo order, then go back and read them chronologically later:). With O Jerusalem, this means putting it in its proper place.

    Blessings,

    Cynthia

    Larry,

Please do join our Robert Parker group! Parker fanatics definitely welcome!:) I willt erribly miss his books--I have read them allr epeatedly...there is something there that resonates deeply for me, whether it's Sunny's claustrophobia about relationships, or the long relationship between Susan and Spenser. I too love the westerns and lvoed the film rendition of Appaloosa. if you love Sherlock Holmes you will lvoe the Mary Russell books...let me know which you like best. Blessings and welcome

Hi, Larry! It's good to hear from you!
Yes, I'm interested in medieval and Tudor times too.
I see you gave 5 stars to Ellis Peters' "An Excellent Mystery". I'll read that book next when I finish Sharan Newman's medieval mystery "Death Comes as Epiphany". It's good to know you've read Margaret Frazer's books too. I got some but haven't read any yet.
I'm looking for Christie's ancient Egyptian mystery too; I'll let you know when I find it. I love Poirot's mysteries too, well, who doesn't? :-)
I'd like to check out your anthologies on poems also. I hope they aren't so hard-to-find.
Anyway, what book are you reading now?
Have a great weekend ahead. Cheers!

Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!
