I am 23 and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I grew up in Canada, the States and NZ so Ive never really stayed in one place for long - but for all the moving and adventures along the way books are the one thing that has been constant. My mum is a huge reader and I think I was about 6 when I started getting into science fiction and fantasy - the... more »

Hey! That’s cool you did the same thing sorta with the Australian Gov… I was deployed with some Aussie troops for the 15mos I was in Iraq… met a lot of cool guys. So working as a travel agent sounds idealic! That have you been able to travel anywhere cool since you’ve worked there? Fiji is the only place I’ve gone on vaca and I planned it myself rather than go through an agent… I just needed a break. Now that I have Elisabeth Faustine (who will be 6 mos in two weeks) I wish I could do it again =0). The army gave me 6 weeks after her birth to re-coop… I was back to work right after. Its been alright though I work from 0600-1400 so you can’t ask for better right??
Yea I know how Aussie’s feel about Tassie, however it was beautiful and I was able to see some tassie devils an platypus’s and just a bunch of native animals which made it worth the trip to me. The Northern Territory was a treat for the same reason… we went on a croc river trip where they feed em meat and they jump out of the water… it was wicked hot though. I wish I could have spent more time in more urban places… Melbourne and Sydney… I want to go out and see Aires Rock too so I plan on taking my hubby some day to see it all, hopefully spend more time down there. =)
Why on earth would you like to visit Alabama and Louisiana?? That sounds about as random as my trip to Tassie… except those ppl are truly redneck hicks… (though, New Orleans would be neat… mardi gras!). I would recommend Colorado though, a beautiful state! And DC is sweet… every time I drive into work I see the Washington monument and the capital building just awesome. I am stationed up here for two more years so I plan on visiting all of the museums, we just went to the Museum of Natural History.
What are you reading right now? I have this series by Karen Miller and I am not really into them… I guess I lucked out with other authors before her… she has potential though.

no i haven't heard of the killashandra series.. and i didn't read the crystal singer either.

I am an Intelligence Analyst... pretty neat when I can actually do my job =)... and the job doesn't keep me from reading as much as my five month old! I am from the wonderful state of Wyoming actually... about as American as one can get right? where did you live when you were over here... and Canada? I've been to Australia... just last year, I was up in the Northern Territory though and spent a week down in Tasmania. I flew to and through Melbourne if that counts??

The entire series of the Black Jewels series is great, Mia. I love them all. I have them all on my Kindle, except, of course, for the last one, The Shadow Queen. It won't be released until the end of March, but I have it pre-ordered already. This has become my very favorite series of all time, so far.

oh wow, that is really cool that you started out in the same way! Its been a while since I read the series, I've moved so much through the states due to the Army so all of my McCaffrey books are at home in boxes. However I did cry when Moretta died and I loved Nerilika's story as well. oh that entire series just captivated me... I want to re-read it now. Did you ever read the Rowan's Series?!
