“Overall, Sea Change was a good book. There were a few things that got on my nerves, though.
1. It got annoying after a while, because the main character talked way too much about science, and I am not a science person. It was always science this and science that, and I was getting sick of it.
2. The main character and her love interest fell in love too quickly. Although it happened over several pages, in the book, it happened over the course of one day or so. It was like, they met, they ran into each other, they chatted, BAM! LOVE!
3. The ending wasn't really an ending at all. It just...left off. I felt cheated, in a way, like the author didn't feel in the mood to write a proper ending. I was expecting something good, something finalizing, but it was a rather open ending. And open endings just don't do it for me. I want to know what happened, instead of imagining what could have happened.
4. A pretty big part of this book has to do with mermaids (or whatever name you want to give them). We never actually got to see a mermaid, though. It was all talk and assumptions and hypothesis. It was disappointing, because I had been expecting a paranormal book, and what I got was something that wasn't sure if it really wanted to be a paranormal book or not. ”
