Meredith K

Meredith K

I think I came out of the womb with a book in my hands. Over the years, the guilty pleasures have become my mainstays--Danielle Steel, The Baby-sitters' Club. I like to venture out of my comfort zone every now and then, but it takes something really good to make me finish it. My library card is one of my prized possessions.

Hey, yeah it is a cool site to look for new books to read and then buy tem used online. I browsed for a few hours and found the books on my shelf but I could spend days adding books I have read.

I think my daughter first told me about 'Can you Keep a Secret' while we were swimming at the Middleburgh Hts. Rec Center after a Weight Watcher's meeting and how much she liked it. My sister Therese, handed me 'Shopaholic' and I couldn't put it down. I'm sorry to see that the film coming out has Ilsa Fisher (good choice) but is not set in England, but NYC (bad choice). It will lose an important indgredient-it's charm.

I can't read only the same kind of book. I need to mix it up. Right now I'm reading a true forensic mystery and 'Audacity of Hope' plus a book by RFK, Jr. on conservation in a corrupt administration. Next, I'm choosing light, maybe 'A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian' or 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' both recommended by another daughter.

I think I have too little time left in my life to pick up a Danielle Steele, but I know of others who enjoy that escape. And yes, there is hardly a thing I can think of as valuable as a library card.

Note to Alisa: Do you think Meredith K is Mary Sue Easter Egg? I would read the book for sure. Even BUY it.
