In the beginning, I was born in the Pacific Northwest in 1951.
I eventually grew-up (?) and then went to several major universities around the Country, acquired multiple degress (college credit equivalent to a Ph.D.). I've worked all across the USA, from East Coast to West Coast, so I am well travelled. And I've held jobs in
Education, Information Science, and Government Projects. (I've also taught a College Course in FUTURE STUDIES.)
I have a strong background in Science Education (and a passion for Astrophysics) so I tend to lean toward SCIENCE Science-Fiction works -- OR Historical Fiction that has some basis in REALITY (though I like some Fantasy that appears "realistic"). I'm a big "trekkie" fan, Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dr. Who, etc. But I am not much on Sci-Fi "monster" movies--nor HORROR. Narnia and Tolkien are good in my view, though perhaps a bit too childish??? And I like those Medeval and Athurian Romances, as well (and consider myself something of a Musketeer, and Gentleman Viking).
I also have a powerful military background: taught Military Arts & Sciences, got War Game Awards, and have participated in the Defense of America.
As to reading habbits, I tend to be a voratious reader. For, the Information Science Formula that if you don't have enough data to solve a problem, then you continue your search until it is found, tends to dominate me. Consequently, I tend to read extensively of non-fiction materials. (And have come up with many interesting "solutions" and "inventions".)
Unfortunately, my career in Science was cut short, leaving me handicapped and disabled.
But, with the extra spare time now, I have been plinking away at the keyboard, eventually
writing some works of my own. Over the past 15 years or so, I've slowly turned out about a baker's dozen of books--listed in my "OWN" section. (Hope you will find some of them delightful.)
As a general rule, I tend to fall through the cracks of Author's Classifications. Most Secular Presses say my works are far too philosophical (and theological)--so try a
Religious Press. However, when I try Religious Presses, they complain that A- my works have too much violence (but then military campaigns and sword fights are a part of life--and a good adventure, in my book; besides most Guys and Gamers like the SLASH and BASH stuff), and B- my works have too much ROMANCE and S-E-X (but compared to modern movies, I'm more like PG-13--though Ahqo might be argueably HARD R).
So, I've set them out for you to take a look at, yourself--and decide where the Truth really lies. (Be kind, and gentle!)
