Good, I'm glad you liked it. I still have to find a copy of the third one myself. Trent is really getting interesting. He's still quite the nasty fellow, but interesting.

Well, I did read the 2nd and the 5th in the series. Just not the first one. I did like the 2nd one in the series though. How are you enjoying it?

Hi, well I never read the first Kim Harrison book so I can't really tell you if it was better. I thought it was interesting enough that I went looking to the library for more. But I don't think I need to own any of them. Still, I love Jenks

Hope you enjoy it better than the first

Hi, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. My computer got infected with a troijan from a facebook app and it took me until today to get clean.

Actually I found myself completely rewriting whole sections which changed the entire tone of the book. But I always had a main theme in mind. When something like that happens, I usually would sit there and decide if that new change helped or hurt my storyline and would work with it if I decided it helped.

But having multiple ideas is not bad. You just need to settle on a main one to focus your book around and then you can use some of others as subplots. Or, you can save them for another book. How I usually work it is that I get my main idea and then brainstorm around it. The details may change, but I keep the main idea central and secure. If something comes to me that can work as a main idea, I use it as a basis for a sequel or another book. I currently have 3 books I'm working on (well maybe 4) though I'm trying to focus on only 1 right now.

You can't help where you creativity and inspiration goes. If you are writing and you find that the tone is completley changing from what you have earlier envisioned, that may not be a bad thing. If you are inspired by it, go with it and see where the thought takes you, but just try to keep focused on a main theme and create around it.

Okay that Richelle Mead series sounds very intriguing. I just added it to my to read list. Thanks for the rec. I definitely like light-hearted moments in my books, along with the gore of course. I tried to incorporate a little of that in my own book. Of course i do have a slightly morbid sense of humor so what I might find funny, others may not.

Sounds fun! Romance can be find, but I also like the silly and fun on occasion. If you like that, you might like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. It's not vampire but it is a romantic comedy series about poor Stephanie, the would-be bounty hunter.

For supernatural comedy, Tanya Huff's Summoning series is pretty good.

My friend and I have decided we need to start reading classics again - and she chose this as our first book. I'm a bit iffy - about it, but I'm willing to give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes.
