not a voracious reader(as i was once reffered as), but certainly relish the feeling of dissolving into the realm of a novel and delve into the parallel world created by it.

Upamanyu CHatterjee has awry humour. Is quite incisive.
CIrcle of Reason is by no means a tale of lonely Inidan immigrants. Far from it. But it is nowhere close to "THe Hungry Tide" by GHosh,in quality. THe latter is a must read.

Hi Deepankar. On the High Seas and sitting on the deck your avtar style!!!!! You should also check out A circle of Reason by Amitav Ghosh which is abook written while on the high seas.It is about an IPS officer who loves to paint butterflies but, in pursuit of a suspect.
However, if you read Eng. Audust, you will actually be bitter about are highest ranking officers.
