Have finished the book and thought I'd let you know something I wished I'd known at the beginning of the book...if you go to the last chapter before the appendix titled "meanwhile back at the wall", Martin explains why this book is the way it is. Also found out today that Dance with Dragons is not the last in the series but there is a sixth book in the works entitled The Winds of Winter...apparently book 5 is written in the same format as book 4...BOOOOO :( anyway happy reading! Hope you and the family have a great trip :)

I started the book yesterday and am only a couple hundred pages into it but I must admit I was kinda lost in the prologue...I didn't know any of those characters...I even pulled an "Alain" and went to the Appendix to check the characters! It wasn't till like the fourth chapter that I actually knew someone...I felt like I was starting a new series! but now I know everyone and it's all good although I won't have too much time for reading till the end of the week as my friends are visiting from Toronto...but I should be done by next week...(really!) How are you liking it compared to Book 3?

I was at Chapters and checked on the release date for Dance of Dragons...July 12, 2011! Of course there's no way I'm paying $35 for a hardcover edition and the waiting list at the library will be months long...so... I guess I'll just have to be patient...
My friend Ray recommended another series by David Eddings titled The Belgariad...Book 1- Pawn of Prophecy...there are five books in all... so you might too since he is a male author :)

Obviously my page 830 won't be your page 830 but it's so shocking that you will KNOW that that's my page 830! I really did NOT see that coming! AND it comes back at the very end to shock you again! Hopefully you will rate The Clash of Kings more than your usual 4 stars...especially since you gave Lord of the Flies 5 stars!?!

You finished the book :) but 4 stars? really? you're hard to impress! So on to a classic huh? is it really thick? Oh I guess you can't tell that on your Kobo! LOL Actually one of my guy reader friends (the one that recommended the Stephen King fantasy you read) looooooves Treasure Island and is always trying to get me to read it...says your education isn't complete without reading it! Have you been able to view the 1001 list? Go to most popular groups then click on 1001 books then at the end of the blurb you will see the word "more" click on more and the list will appear whether or not you're a member.

Wow!! you finished A Game of Thrones! Now you've proven that you're a reader :) Don't be disappointed with the end cuz you have 4 more books before you get to the end! I don't know if this will be a mini series but I do know for SURE that Pillars of the Earth has been made into one which will air this fall...(so one more reason NOT to read the book!) Frankly, I'm disappointed you only gave it 4 stars... but I've got all the rest of Martin's series at home and can pass them to you if you wish to go on reading them. Hope you're having a great summer with the family and happy reading :) Ciao!
