Yes Its a good feeling here, am enjoying
Favorite book, Great Gatsby, Invisible Man, Atlas Shrugged and Grapes of Wrath. Actually the list is endless.
Carey :) Yes ma'am, everything is just dandy in my neck of the woods. Hope the same holds true for you.Since you devour books at the same pace I might a Starbuck's Americano, "Discipline" has been put back on my list. Of your high praise for the novel, I think "Gross" intrigues me most - followed closely by "nerdy". Thank you again for taking the time to write back. And please don't apologize for any delays - on this fast train we're all on it's a wonder we have to time to log our books on the site, much less write to fellow book nerds half a country away.Oh - and you asked about Digital Fortress. Good book if you're a Dan Brown fan AND a nerd. His depiction of what that upper echelon of nerds life would be like is spot on. He did a great deal of study and it shows. If you like totally happy endings, this might leave you short on a couple of points. As for me? I'll pick back up in a few years when my Alzheimer’s kicks in and i've forgotten that i've read it.
Hi, Carey sorry for not messaging....How you are doing so?
I read The Alchemist on your recommendation. Your opinion was spot on - and I enjoyed the smooth read. Took about 3 sits at the lamp to finish it and left me a good feel about things. Since you are the self acclaimed "book-eater" I would look forward to any more references that you would send my way. otherwise i suppose i'll just look at your reviews for guidance ;)
Thank you Carey,Tis much appreciated. Of your recommendations, I think that The Alchemist sounds most intriguing. I'll let you know what I think of it. You asked something more specific. Honestly - the motivation was seeing the books on your shelf and the ensuing curiosity.Oh - and about Discipline by Paco Ahlgren: no ma'am, I have not started reading that as of yet. Barnes and Noble happened to be out of stock on so I think that i'll read The Alchemist next instead.thank you again for the time.Robert
Ms Carey, Would you mind if i bother you for your opinions? I've noticed that you're quite a fan of the inspiriational/self help titles. Of those - which few would you put on top? Sure I'm not itching to read them. Unless, of course, you deem any worthy of the time.Thank you.
Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let me know. If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845
