Wow. I kinda envy you really. Books here in the Philippines costs around 400php for the paperback only. hard bound books can cost 700php. That's why I only purchase the paperbacks of my favorite books. Booksales don't have the books I like so I have to stick with the regular bookstores. How I wish there's a swap here. :|

Hi Ruth, I've read Torment since my last note but still haven't been too impressed with this series. Torment picked up from the last book but didn't offer us answers to any of the questions raised in the first book which means that everythings being saved for the third installment. The pace was really really slow again and with it being a thick book it was almost a relief when I finished it.

I'm currently reading Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush Hush and while the story is similar to Fallen, as it's about the Fallen Angel theme again, it's darker than the Fallen series and in some ways better. I'm halfway through the first book and am lined up to read the sequel so I'll keep you posted on whether it's worthwhile. As for Fallen though Ruth, I think it would be safer to borrow a copy from the library in just to be on the safe side as I regret buying both Fallen and Torment now. The book covers were what appealed to me and it just goes to that we should never judge a book by their covers!!!

Between the Fallen and Hush Hush series I ended up reading the first three books in Adrian Phoenix's The Makers Song series. I really enjoyed this series Ruth. The series is about a half vampire, half fallen angel and his struggle to fit in a world where he's hunted by mortals, vampires and The Fallen alike who all want to use him for their own selfish ends. I know that fallen angels seem to be the trend these days but I think the author has done more justice to it then others. I think you'd like them too.

I'm glad to hear that you got the Buffy invite and am looking forward to reading your views on the site. It's been great chatting to you. Take care Ruth, bye! xx

    Hey Ruth!
I noticed the similarities in our bookshelves as well and figured that we should be on each other's friend's lists. Perhaps we can share ideas on new books as well. :)

    Have a good one!

Hi Ruth, it's great to hear from you again. I've read Fallen and am now reading the second installment, Torment. I had alot of expectations for this series and am not sure if they've been fulfilled as yet, but I'll know more by the end of Torment. It's one of those series that leaves the reader with more questions than answers and where the pace is a bit slow with little action. Torment is supposed to end on a cliffhanger though so I fear that I'm going to have to wait until the 3rd book for answers.

I hope you got my Buffy invite? If not please let me know and I'll send the invite again. It took over twelve months to write it and there's lots of room to give your own opinions on characters and favourite books/episodes etc. I hope you'll find time to list your own. I'm still in the middle of my Angel site but hope to complete it soon as well.

Anyway, it's been nice chatting to you Ruth. By the way, I love your avatar, it's so cool. Bye! xx

Hi Ruth, I'm half way through Fallen and so far it's going well. I'll certainly keep you updated as I have the second installment, Torment as well. Coincidently, I plan to read Michelle Rowen's Immortality Bites series in the next couple of weeks too. Stakes and Stiletto's I believe is the fourth installment? What did you think of the first three books? They sound fun.

I have Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series on my wishlist but have not managed to acquire any of the books yet. I'd love to hear your thoughts on This Side of the Grave when you've read it.

I enjoyed Rachel Vincent's Shifters series and hope you will too. If you're a fan of strong female leads then they will definately appeal to you. I've noticed you've read a number of Buffy books and thought you might be interested in joing my Buffy Book Discussion Group? I'm sending you an invite just in case. Anyway it's been great chatting to you Ruth, hope you will keep in touch. Bye!

Hi Ruth, thank you for your friend request. I'm 41 yrs old too funnily enough! I'm a fan of paranormal/urban fantasy as well as YA fiction. I'm currently reading Lauren Kate's Fallen. My most recent reads have been Rachel Vincent's Shifters, Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires and Karen Chance's Dorina Basarab series. Have you read any of them?

    What are you reading?
