Hey thanks for the friend invite. I really enjoy reading Ann Coulter. I agree with pretty much everything on her views. I like her because she dosen't care how much she offends the liberals.

Hi, Thank you so much for replying. I love non-fiction medical books and I have a lot of them. Some of the ones that I have read and enjoyed are: "Hot light's, Cold steel: Life, death, and sleepless nights during a surgeon's first years" by Michael Collins which took place in the 80's and was really good; "On Call" by Emily Transue; "Trauma Junkie" by Janice Hudson and "When the Air Hits Your Brain" by Frank Vertosick. I own but haven't read, "On Call in Hell: A Doctor's Iraq War Story" by Richard Jadick which I saw on a tv show when it first came out. And I just bought "Life in the Balance" by Thomas Graboys about a heart surgeon who is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the height of his career. I own a lot more medical books that I haven't read yet, but I will let you know if they are any good. I also noticed that you read one of the Atul Gwande books. I own both "Better" and "Complications", but haven't read either. What did you think about the book? Also if you know of any good neurosurgeon books or any other medical books, please let me know about them. Due to medical problems, I am having to take time off from school which is kinda frustrating, but at least I get to read all the time.

Hi there:Sounds like you are forcing yourself to read the 4th book! I take that as something I may not want to get into. I am afraid of dog books, LOL - I give them to my daughter as she enjoys them. I let her drown in tears, I don't know if my heart could take the pain! I am reading a suspense novel right now; The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen. So far, it is slow going, not the book ......... just me! It appears that it will be entertaining though, I just have to find some spare time (and energy!) for it.We are busy getting ready for vacation - going to Victoria, B.C (Vancouver Island) for 2 1/2 weeks at the end of the month. Gotta get my hubby 'travelable' by then .... he is slowly getting over his heart surgery ... a vacation for both of us will be of great benefit I think. My parents live there, so the meals and lodging is always great! We are renting a car, so hope to get some visiting of different places on the island while we are there too.Stay in touch, Denise
Thanks for that Deborah. The reviews are all over the place, somehow think with all the other good reading I have on the shelf, I won't bother with this one.Hope all is going well with you & your family.Any other good books sitting on your shelf??
Let me know how you like the book. It sounds like a good one to me.Another one to add to the list (ever growing it seems!).Anyway, here's a bit more about who I am.I work full time for a government insurance program that assists workers who are injured on the job.I have a wonderful husband, who's only problem is health related .... he has M.S. and is just now recovering from open heart surgery. He is a real trooper though and has amazed everyone with his determination to get better! He is a field engineer in the oil industry when he is capable of working. My granddaughter, Mackenzie will be 4 in November. My oldest daughter, Kristien is age 25 and has just graduated from medical school, so after a long time and lots of $$$'s, we finally have a Dr. in the family! We could not be more proud of her as a person and the bonus is now she can begin enjoying her chosen profession. My younger daughter, Gabrielle is 23. She is still attending university and is in her final year of education. She would like to teach high school social studies for a while, during which time, she hopes to obtain her Master's Degree (eventually) and perhaps teach at the university she attends. She is more outgoing than her sister. She is also the daughter with the 'baby'. She has come a long way after taking the wrong road for a while, but is now doing great. My husband and I am very proud of her, she has completely turned her life around since having Mackenzie. How old are you daughters? You are right, it does seem like we have things in common.I have only been to Montana as far as travel within your country. It was very different from my home which is directly north of the state. Very baron and little population to speak of. It is truly a beautiful place to visit (wouldn't want to live there though, a little too quiet for me!).I would love to travel more, but with my hubby's health, it is difficult.Anyway, I had best get back to work here before my day becomes too busy and I go crazy!Stay in touch!Denise

I'm reading a bio written by Seb Hunter called 'Hellbent for Leather: Confessions of a Heavy Metal Addict' it's to funny. Just finished the latest Kim Harrison book, excellent of course. I'm also reading 'Three Musketeers' for about the 100th. I also reading National Geographic 'Milestones in Science'. Picked up a book called 'The Complete Pompeii' that looks wonderful and I have some more bio's lined up. Not enough time to read. Let me know what you think of Gargoyle, you will prob read it before me. Later, Reen

So did you regret having read Marley and Me? You didn't feel like it was worth having read it?
Actually, the answer to that question will have to be yes. Tragic is the more apt word -- tragic in the Shakespearian sense. You will know what I mean if you read it. It is very much worth your time, I would say, despite the ending. Especially for a dog lover is it almost a have-to read.
Uglies, The Messenger, and Ever.I've kinda lost interest in Ever, I find it a little boring.
