When I saw our books in common the moment I saw "American Psycho" I was like, "YAAAAAAY!!!" it's my favorite book ever.
I recently purchased The Loved One. The cover caught my attention (I got a zombie cover version) and I see that you read it but there's no rating.
So I wanna know.. is it worth reading?

And please allow me to say "DAMN" because I just bought The Little Giant yesterday =////
If only I have seen your shelf I would've seen the 2 stars...... :((( *cries*

I'm sorry you have hit a rough patch in your reading, Deborah ;-(
I don't know if I've ever taken a breather because of too many "one-or-two-star" reads in a row, but there definitely have been a few times when I just didn't feel like reading. Last time it happened was about five years ago when I was recovering from a serious injury. Not a single book appealed to me. Then I friend lent me her collection of "Little House" books, which I hadn't seen since childhood. I don't know if was the easy reading, the childhood memories, or what, but somehow the desire to read came back to me. Now I try to read (or re-read) a childhood classic every once in awhile, just to remind myself of how exciting it was to discover books and reading when I was a child.
    Hang in there ;-)

No Time To Wave Goodbye was just ok. I would put it on the back burner. I think Anita Diamant's was the best book I've read in a while too. It seems that book after book have just been ok and not the best!

Never heard of the Mother Garder. Just finished Anita Diamant's Before and After today in 8 hrs. Couldn't put it down. Starting Janet Evanovich's Finger Lickin' Fifteen. I need a lighter book.

Hi Deb. Been a while. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who didn't like Oliver Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. Hard to believe that it won a Pulitzer Prize. Loved her others though.

    Hope all is well.

    Hi Deborah,

Thanks for the invitation to be friends, and I look forward to seeing what you are reading and reading your reviews. I did take a peek at your shelf and it looks like you might be a Duke fan ;-) When it comes to the ACC, they are the ones!

I moved to northern California from Boone/Blowing Rock about 8 years ago, but I still own a little house and some property there, so I haven't ruled out coming back some day. (We certainly won't be retiring here...way to expensive!) I loved living in the Blue Ridge, and miss so many things about it...especially the dear friends I have there.

    Take care,
    Darra
