Hi! Thank you for the note, which I failed to answer immediately. I am glad to find Socialists like you. I do admire Karl Marx, as well as his and Engel's idea. But I already ceased to believe that Communism's supposedly "almost perfect" set-up is ever attainable. Because in the first place, man is the implementor, and man is prone to error. Communism is better in print, never in real life. For a society to flourish, it all boils down to individual values and moral. It really is an accumulative result of individual desire and effort to improve himself and attain a higher level of standard. I am a Filipino, and being a Filipino (if you have ever been to our country), you can not blame me for losing this kind of idealism. Right now, our political situation is being rocked by a major controversy. All because everyone seems to be greedy. Bless us all.
Hey António, thank you for your note! Yes, it's fair to say I'm a Socialist, although, not a Communist. I believe that the most important precondition for a successful global socialism is a shift away from the Protestant work ethic and towards a communitarian/rule-utilitarian ethic where people see their own best interests in the best interests of the whole.I spend a lot of time with my friends trying to convince them that the WHOLE is something different from the majority.. that it allows for the importance of the minority voice.Anywho, I hope you'll stay in touch.Do you live in Portugal?
