This picture was taken at sunrise on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in October of 2007. Sunrise is an especially sacred time of day for me and I celebrate it as often as I can.
I have loved books since I was a little girl. Every evening before bedtime I would climb up in my Daddy's lap and he would read to me. As I got older, reading was the one thing I continued to do with my Dad. When I was old enough, trips to the library with Dad were one of the highlights of my life.
I've been reading on my own since I was 4, but Dad continued to read to me every evening until I was 11 or so, and too big to sit on his lap. Trips to the library with Dad continued until I went to High School.
I'll always be grateful to my Dad for opening the world of books to me.
On my shelf, I am trying to compile a list of books I have read throught my life. I am really enjoying finding books that I haven't seen in many years, yet like old friends, are a very important part of my life. Of course, there are many more recently read books also: new friends joining the old, new ideas, companions on my life journey, with many more places to go..........
Namaste, Shalom, Blessed Be!
