This book was fabulous and I think every parent-educator should read it. I was amazed at all of the different ways she did the studies with the kids and I still refer back to this book for my parenting.

This book is such a great metaphor for life and the love between parents and kids. My mom read it to me as a child, now I read it to my son. It never gets old. We had this old willow tree in our back yard for 40 years and we called it our personal giving tree. This past summer it had to come down due to a bad storm. Now it is just a big stump. Life imitates art.

I was so thrilled when I saw this book for kids. I purchased it when my son was four, he is now seven. It is a really great tool for having conversations around choices in life. It's long, but we have fun reading it every time.

Below are the reviews from iParenting reviewers for each of the books:
Bur Bur’s Boating ABC’s iParenting Media Awards Reviewer Feedback:
    • The story, the illustrations and the colors of the illustrations were so captivating. We really enjoyed this book. “Grampie” who is a fisherman, enjoyed reading this book to his grandchildren.
    • The positive characteristic of this book is that it teaches a child their ABC’s while it tells a story about a little boys boating trip with his parents.
    • This is a unique addition to children’s literature. I have never seen another book that offers young children an introduction into the world of boating and boating terms. We are a family on the lake every weekend in the summer and this was a perfect addition to our library for our young daughter. We also liked that this book can be read in a simplified format with just the letter and word for very young children and with the longer definitions for older children. Great illustrations also make this an inviting choice for young children.

Bur Bur’s Fishing Adventure iParenting Media Awards Reviewer Feedback:
    • The illustrations were very eye-catching and appealing. The story was a nice story, one that I think children would enjoy reading even if they have never experienced anything such as the story.
    • The positive characteristic of Bur Bur’s Fishing Adventure was that it is a story you could read to your child that taught them about fishing in a fun way.
    • This book is a great informational book written in a fictional picture book format. The book is a great size and has vivid, colorful pictures that are inviting for young children. This is a unique product. We read a couple hundred library books each month and I have yet to run across a similar book that describes the informational process of fishing.

Bur Bur Throws Out the First Pitch iParenting Media Awards Reviewer Feedback:
    • Bur Bur Throws Out the First Pitch was such a nice story, very simple and had a good feeling and message about it. It was very simple and easy to understand even for littler ones, and had lots of nice and easier words for early readers.
    • The positive characteristic of this book was that it showed my child how the character worked hard at his task and was proud of his accomplishment.
    • The story line of this book is a dream come true for every little baseball fan. This is a great book for offering non-fiction information about the topic in a fictional story. The illustrations are vivid and colorful, attracting the younger reader. The simple picture definitions, along with the more in depth rules of the game that were located after the story at the end of the book were a great addition.
