ITA w/you about The Castaways. I wanted to know more about Gregg and Tess than the survivors. I didn't think it was one of her best either. I hope you'll enjoy her others better when you read them.

    Take care.

  • The Ancient One

    The Ancient One says

The foundation of happiness is mindfulness. The basic condition for being happy
is our consciousness of being happy. If we are not aware that we are happy, we are
not really happy. When we have a toothache, we know that not having a toothache
is a wonderful thing. But when we do not have a toothache, we are still not happy.
A non-toothache is very pleasant. There are so many things that are enjoyable,
but when we don’t practice mindfulness, we don’t appreciate them. When we practice
mindfulness, we come to cherish these things and we learn how to protect them.
By taking good care of the present moment, we take good care of the future.
Working for peace in the future is to work for peace in the present moment.

Hi Amanda. I'm glad that you're enjoying it since I got bored after 60 pages and "pulled the bookmark." Onto another book.

Hi Amanda. I see that we're reading the same book. How are you enjoying it so far? I'm only on page 50 but so far so good. I like British authors who are "Americanized" in their writing since don't enjoy the british "language" in books.

Hi I see you want to read A Little Light Magic, here was my review of it. Let me know what you thought of it when you do read it.

I loved it, it was light, fun and romantic. I loved all the characters. It made me laugh and it made me cry. I couldn't put it down. Let's hope we will see more of the Santangelo family in the future!

The same with my library. It had only 1 copy at another branch and put it on hold and now it's in transit. Hope to get it next wk. I have 7 others yet to read so will find something to read. I'm just starting Conscious Point by Erica Abeel who is an author I met on here and found that at my library also.

    Have a great wkend.

Hi Amanda, I think I liked My Sister's Keeper the best out of all J. Picoult's books besides her earlier ones when she wrote about the Amish. I'll let you know how much I hopefully will enjoy this one.

Hi Amanda. I just keep adding and adding and I'll need a lifetime to finish all of them. :L I stopped subscribing to RT since 1/2 the time there's nothing in there worthwhile and I don't read a lot of the categories so it wasn't worth $34. for a yr for me. I skim through it while I'm in a bookstore and mark down titles.

Just dropped Eve; too biblical for me even though I loved The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Going to start reading Jodi Picoult's Handle With Care now. Taking back 4 to the library during my lunch hr and see what else I can find.
