    Hi Deborah,

Thanks so much for your too-kind message. I appreciate the warm sentiments and encouragement and look forward to being your Shelfari friend. Michael Chabon actually did his M.F.A. at UC Irvine, which is a top choice but way out of my league. They only accept 6 fiction writers into their program a year, out of upwards of 12 or 13 hundred. So, hopefully I'll get accepted somewhere this year, but not pinning my hopes on any of the real literary big boy schools. Will let you know where I land.

    Best,
    Justin

The Newton Prophecies. It is due for official release around Thanksgiving. I'm going to be running around with my head chopped off doing book signings. lol This is my first novel, so I'm not expecting any huge showings anywhere, but if I can sell some books and spark some buzz, it's worth all the work.

I unfortunately will be unable to be there. Please contact the new admin for the group. Her name is Jenn and you can send her a message by sending a message to the admin of the group. Sorry I can't be there. My life has gotten so busy in the last few months, with my new job, the release of my novel in a couple months, and the coming of my 5th child in just a few weeks. Life's pretty crazy. Good luck to you. I am sure the discussion will be great! =)

Yes, I am an author as well as a doctor. I write medical mystery/thrillers. My first two (Double Illusion and Wednesday's Child) were paperback originals and my newest is just out in hardback. It's called Rabbit in the Moon by Deborah and Joel Shlian (Joel is my husband)The book is about Lili Quan, a young woman medical resident from California whose dying mother asks her to go to China to learn about her heritage. She does, but gets caught up in an international scheme to control her grandfather's discovery of the secret to long life. So it's a love story, a medical mystery and a suspenseful thriller rolled into one. It takes place around the time of the Tiananmen massacre in 1989 when young students in China tried to change the government, but instead were shot dead in the square by Chinese soldiers. That was before your time, but in America we watched what was happening on television and couldn't believe our eyes. Take a look at my website: http://www.shlian.com for more information. Also, as a future graphic artist you will see that my talents do not lie with website design. I made the site myself! Perhaps you have suggestions for improvement?

I'd like to do something with graphic or interior design. Or advertising. I've always been really good with all that art stuff. Your daughter speaks spanish? So do I, but I don't speak it fluently (I don't think I could live with a family in Argentina that only speaks spanish either). I see on your profile that you've published a few books. That's pretty cool, what are they about?

Thanks for the friendship request! I get that a lot that I read a lot of adult books as well as teen books. The adult one's are usually much better so that's why I read them. Thanks again, bye!

You can google Jordan Rich at WBZ 1030. You can probably hear it on line.

You can also call the libraries to schedule readings. If you're awake Saturday night at 12:30 I'll be on the Jordan Rich radio show on WBZ. I only have 10 minutes, but the show has a very broad range from Florida to Chicago. Keith by the way is from NH and I may meet him at my next event in Manchester.

How did you get this? I think the person who runs the site doesn't like me. I sent her a message about my book and she was upset that I was spamming folks about my book. Have you been calling your local libraries, too?

Did you go on line and get a listing of all Borders and Barnes & Nobles? Also, have you checked out Book Sense? This gives you a state by state lsting of independent book stores. You can then go onto each store's site, get an email and send each one a message about your book. I did this for every store in the US, Canada, and Australia. Not sure the effect. But I did get a store in Iowa to nomiate me for a Booksense pick of the month.

Burlington would be the closest. Make sure you autograph any book you don't sell. That way the store will have to keep it.

Dear Deborah Best of luck with your novel. I have been scheduling events in NH, Maine and Mass at the various Borders, Barnes & Nobles and indies this spring. I will pick it up again in the fall. Stores don't do a lot of business on nice summer days. Are you connected with International Thriller Writers? Let me know your schedule. If you are up in my neck of the woods, maybe we can discuss books and promotion.

    Hi Deborah!
It's Thus night, 8PM at the Park Ave Borders (cross street 57th), so just 15 blocks from the hotel. A short cab ride, 1 subway stop, or a brisk 15 minute walk. Hope to see you there!
