I have a bit of a compulsion when it comes to acquiring books. My personal library is my happy place - it keeps me calm, the only problem is that I have acquired far more books than I will ever be able to read in my lifetime. I love both fiction and nonfiction. I am a history buff, especially NYC History and General American History (I am a social studies teacher in Queens and an archaeologist in summers). My favorite genre of fiction is horror. My favorite authors are Stephen King and Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child. My all-time favorite novels are David Copperfield, Les Miserables, and The Princess Bride. What you currently see on my Shelfari are all of the books I have read since October 1997, which is when I started keeping a book journal. I am in the extremely slow process of entering ALL of the books I own, but have not yet read. That may take a while, so don't hold your breath.
