Oh, them. They simply barged in like gate crashers- so uncouth.

Thank you, Quentin. Gerald picked out the tie. It's not too conservative?

Does Dexter narrate the book like he does in the series? I think his take on things is what makes the series.

Hi, don't get to this site often. I like to read anything, lately I have been reading about religion. This trend started when I read Sam Harris's book on the dangers of religion. Dawkins and Dennett, two folks that I was familiar with in the area of evolution and cognition jumped on the Village Atheist bandwagon soon after Harris.

I think that they are mostly wrong, not that I am a believer but it seems to me that Scott Atran and Elaine Pagels have a better handle on what religion is, how it came about and why it is almost certainly going to be here in some form for a long time.

I see on Anglophiles that you like P.D. James. She is my favorite of the genre, and next must be Henning Mankell. I like his detective, Wallender, and the bleakness of the landscapes. He and Dalgliesh are both well developed characters, and both flawed, but in different ways.

"Lord of the Flies", eh? It's been decades since I've read it - I should read it again. I remember thinking it was brilliant.
