  • Taking Sides: Clashing Views in Business Ethics and Society (Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Controversial Issues in Business Ethics and Society)
    • Rated 4 stars

The authors worked quite hard at pointing out both sides of ethics and I feel they did quite well at it. One of the cases I just completed was of the environmental matter discussing dumping of toxic waste and the ethics behind it.

The authors did well with explaining this case along with the many other cases throughout the book so the reader can see both sides for what they are and take from each reading how they view it then make a well informed judgment with their own personal feelings once they know the facts of the cases.

  • The Portable Dissertation Advisor
    • Rated 5 stars

This book is very helpful for those who are 1) attending a university on a distant learning level and 2) writing a dissertation. How this book helps is by setting the truth in letting the reader know they are not alone. There are thousands who do not attend college directly and have chosen the route of distance learning instead. What I like is the book provides a thought process for distance learners to help them set goals and make them happen.

Excellent book for learning SQL Server 2000, I was very impressed by the documentation provided by this book. The author worded the entire book so persons who were beginners could understand and learn the necessary requirements for managing an SQL Server.

For anyone who is getting into networking or servers, this is a book that will benefit your usage. Grant it Vista is on the market however Windows 2000 is the operating system that servers tend to follow because of how it can be managed. There is another Windows 2000 for home users however there are differences between it and the Windows 2000 book for servers because it is more specific.

Very helpful in writing a research paper and it will be used throughout the building of my dissertation. It works together with the Publication Manual from APA as they both have research documentation that works together.

The book is filled with details for persons who are in the process of writing their dissertation. This is not something to take lightly. I was hesitant on purchasing at first but after looking at it and knowing this was a book I needed for my Doctorate class I got it. Well worth the money and well worth the many pages of reference. This is a keeper for sure.

  • The Great Game of Business
    • Rated 5 stars

I thought the author explained owning a business very well as there are new discoveries in the world of management. A business owner is their own boss as there is no one above them. It is simple to make the mistakes but who do they respond to when things happen, no one. So they need to have many personality or what I like to call the came of "switching chairs at a moment's notice". As the author explains, there are reasons why a business owner needs to switch chairs at a moments notice. Some days they will be in the executive chair discussing a business deal with the next vendor and other days they will be in the accountant's chair working on payroll for their employees. This book explains why the "game of switching chairs" is needed for the success of your business.
