Nunema, anyone? You need to see my new Susan Sontag-meets-Lily Munster look. I'm dying for you to see "Black Narcissus"!
Ah, that was Hopey from "Love and Rockets" - a fab comic book... I really wanted to put up an avatar of her best bud, Maggie, but couldn't get a good enough jpeg of her - she's a mechanic in the future, Maggie is, and Hopey is her cute and saucy roomie. Oh, and good luck! Seeing as you are both brilliant and a babe it would seem a perfect fit...let me know how it goes!!
Indeed. The hills are alive...
Ah, yes, from Sister Luke to the comic book temptress and creature of the night, Vampirella! And so the pendulum swings, clothed/unclothed, hot/hot. Actually, this is what all nuns have on underneath.
Sister Luke is here for Good Friday. I had to explain to a friend of the Jewish persuasion today that you don't say "Happy Good Friday". Hasn't he seen "King of Kings"?! It was kinda cute. So, go with God. I love your Nunnaphilia! It's like some folk who want to get with Santa! tee hee hee...
Wow - knife skills - I am so abysmally bad with knives that I would need the remedial class before I could even begin to take knife skills 101. It is an art form, most definitely.... Jeff's daughter took this dessert course at Peter Cumpf's (something like that - I think it has a new name now) and would come over with her evening's heavenly efforts. Little eclairs, biscotti, chocolate bits o heaven - Such torture!! We all gained weight and were in heaven...good times. And I see Miz Close is reading up on the dearly departed and poisonings...cool.
Keep those Audrey jpegs coming!! "Knife Skills Illustrated"??? How do you FIND these titles??
How about a new cable channel: "Nunema - let it become a habit with you!" Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...you read it here first...bringing you the latest in nuns...have you ever seen the calendars of nuns doing sports? They look so happy and overdressed...Sister Bertrille would be so proud! Which reminds me - would you prefer "Die Hard" first or "Nunema"? - Well, it IS Sunday; their busy day...a busy week, really, right now...Audrey and nuns! I'll see what I can do....

What is the deal with all the nun books on your wish list?
Jesus H. - the grant writing is all falling to you? Oy vey! You do need a movie break! In (dis)honor of our Governor's career blowing up before our very eyes, I think "Die Hard" is an excellent choice. And I haven't forgotten about Nunema...
You're welcome, pretty! :-) Everything else is in the laundry...Audrey is at Canyon Ranch for a Spa week, so alabaster-necked Babelet is visiting. Not too shabby...good luck with funding, for Christ's sake!! ("Diehard" next? Sounds good, when you can; I know you are busy...it will keep)
Clarification: "Your brain is forever" as in good, me likey, as in "a diamond is forever."
Darling! Yes, I'm ba-ack! Oh, and I haven't even started to list my Dark Shadows books! Seriously highbrow. "Barnabas, Quentin and the Gypsy Witch" springs to mind...Meanwhile, "The Duchess Who Would't Sit Down" sounds fascinating. Hmmm, Ms. Close needs a new outfit; she's been standing in that cop uniform for weeks, whereas your brain is forever. BTW, I seem to have misplaced my chin.
Thanks for the people of the book suggestion - going to bookclub tonight..I'll suggest that and the Empire Falls book (which Jim got me for xmas based on raves from people he works with...) Struggled through the Traveling Funeral book but looks like everyone in my book club loved it, guess I'll have an extra glass of wine to get through the discussion :-)
Maybe you just had not eaten enough protein or drank enough scotch before playing. Hey, Jim might need to visit the NY store in the next couple months - are you up for a visit if we tagged on a day with the boys?
I haven't read Burr - it is just on my wish list. I got the inspiration from Kelly's shelf - I think it would be one Jim would like too.
Are you reading the snobbery book to learn more techniques? Love, your obnoxious little sister.

I was always going to name my daughter "Kerensa" a name I found in an old Victoria Holt novel. For that reason, God never blessed me with a girl. My mother named me after someone she found in a year book! Though I am happy I was not named Scarlett! Amy is not a bad name, although she is a little snot in the book, not necessarily someone to aspire to.........
It's really neat to revisit all my books - which shouldn't be difficult since they are all right here with me. I'm stunned at how many of my books are out of print in hardcover, and for several of them I'm the only durn person on Shelfari who has it or has read it. (Almost all my Edward Goreys come to mind)...have you checked out "The Annotated Pride and Prejudice"? It's fascinating, if you get into the flow of reading it and taking in the annotations on the opposite page; it's somewhat slow-going but lots of fun. I understand there's an annotated "Rebecca"!

Burr is my favorite book of all time. If you are only going to read one, that is it.
