Born, brought up and currently ocated in Karachi, I am an International Relations major from Bay Area, California - spent most of my highschool years and college years in student activism, spending time with the abused, the marginalized and the victims of racism and/or prejudices. It is the causes I worked with and the protests I participated in, the peace workshops I facilitated that have shaped who I am today. I stand against the vices of globalization and capitalism, the unilateralism in the global politics, the oppression and suppression of peoples, the loss of identity and culture, the loss of our voice. I have deep interest in the post-colonial world, the Middle East, in Turkey and Iran, in South Asia, and in issues of media control and propaganda. I am also a fan of true sufi thought, for Pakistani ethnic languages and their sufi poetry, for international theatre, music and independent films. Last but not the least, I also have a passion for Lahore:)
"When a cause comes along and you know in your bones that it is
just, yet refuse to defend it -- at that moment you begin to die.
And I have never seen so many corpses walking around talking about justice."
