Thanks Ex, ito daw ang pics natin for 2 weeks, theme ng flippers. I don't expect too much na from sequels, nadidisaapoint ako. I remembered Earth's children ni Auel nung nirelease yung Shelter, superexcited kami, ayun, sobrang kainis ang kwento bcoz of high expectations. Ganun din yung scarlett, and many to add on the list. Itong godfather returns, hmm, basta merun isa dun sa plot that you'll really really love to hate, that makes this book memorable to me. I would recommend to read it but dont expect too much ha. Sana c McCain ang manalo, hehe

    Hey Ex,

Yeah, Andrew Greeley is a Catholic priest. I don't know about his other works but I have about two in my shelf. "Cardinal Sins" was actually recommended to me many years ago by a priest friend who was then newly ordained. His exact words were "para hindi ka ma-disillusion sa mundong pinasukan ko". Anyway, I found the book so thought-provoking and I asked myself "is this really happening in the real world?". it is about greed, ambition and the ills of the Vatican. It might have been a work of fiction but then, I don't know, you need to read it yourself to form an opinion. There are so many priest writers I know like Eugene Kennedy, John Powell, SJ;Keith Clark, A Capuchin; and Fr. Joseph Galdon, whose writings are equally good. Maybe his works are controversial because he is a priest. Have you personally met him? I am just curious!

Hi! I really have a passion for reading. I like exploring different book genre, classics, horror, etc. Whenever I am in the library I just pick whatever book feels right whether or not I am familiar with the author. Kinda exciting! :)

    Hi there Ex,

Thanks again for writing back. What a small world indeed. so you also studied in UST? What a coincidence! We might have met before, who knows? Well, anyway, I left UST in 1978 then worked for more than 21 years at Bank of PI. I availed of an early retirement almost eight years ago. Back then, most of my friends told me that I was too young to retire. It was hard to adjust at first of course but everything has its own time and I guess it was a wise decision after all. I haven't started on The Time of Cholera yet. I am saving it for those times that I won't be that busy. It would probably be my great read this year. I have just discovered Max Lucado and I admire the way he writes. My daughter, who is also a voracious reader regularly buy books for the two of us and I still have several paperbacks here left untouched. They would probably tide me over until summer ends. I do gardening on the side. I just love the feel of earth in my hands and watching things grow. Wonder of nature, so to speak.

Have you been working there long? Do you teach? How does it feel working in the academe? You know, I really miss those days when I used to work at the UST Main Library. IIt was a learning experience for me too and as I have said, it started me into serious reading. Have you tried "Markings" by Dag Hammarskjold of "The Road Less Travelled" by M. Scott Peck? Until now, I am still looking for some books by Thomas Merton but I could not find any. Sorry, I got carried away. I made this unconsciously long. See you....

Thanks for the friendship request. It seems that I am the first one to leave you a note here. I love your shelf. I am BSC Economics graduate and worked for a time as a student librarian way back in college. I noticed that you have a lot of books by Jaime Licauco. I have one of him entitled, Soulmates, Karma and Reincarnation. For a time I was hooked on new age books. I read Gone with the Wind when I was in college.
I am just wondering whether you are a she or a he. Your alias doesn't even suggest it. Hehehe....
