“I read this book as a group study and it was such an eye-opening experience. My hope was to have a closer walk with God and a better understanding of Him. This book was beyond what I thought I'd get out of it. Prayer is SO much more than a selfish plan to ask God for what WE want.
God calls us to intercede for others both Christian and Non-Christian who are hurting physically, mentall and spiritually. We call on the Holy Spirit who goes to Jesus who intercedes on OUR behalf.
There are so many realms to this book. Knowing that sometimes when prayers aren't answered, it's because we go to Him without a clean and pure heart. One of forgiveness and having confessed our sins to God. That life isn't always about name-it-and-claim-it attitude, but one of working together WITH God to pray for the spiritual well-being of others through concrete scriptural means.
Also coming to the understanding that God can accomplish ALL things without us, but chooses to use us. Elijah is one person from Biblical times who was just an ordinary man who did extraordinary things through our Heavenly Father.
If you want a closer walk with God and a new knowledge of Gods purpose for prayer, THIS is the book for you.
One of the writers shared in a video for this series that we as individuals don't walk into our friends or families homes, sit and say nothing only to walk out and go home again. Yet oftentimes This is what we do with God. We don't say one word to God all day, yet expect that He'll answer our every demand and get downright mad when He doesn't answer our prayers.
This book as I said is eye-opening and has given me a whole new outlook on my faith walk with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It's worth the read and you'll change your spiritually walk forever.
