Ian is a graduate of Round Rock High School and attended St Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Having worked for a few years in the corporate world at Golfsmith, he left to work for In The Flesh Tattoo Studio in Austin, Texas. At In The Flesh, he served as both the marketing manager and events coordinator. In 2008, Ian and his friend/business partner, Chris Villarreal, founded Gwizsk Design. For Gwizsk he serves as the marketing manager and as a social media marketing consultant. In 2008 he joined the team at Double Stereo (formerly CD Fuse) as their new Blog editor where he reviews concerts, albums, and interviews for the popular music site.In January 2009, he became the Editor in Chief for Austin Vida. On any given night of the week, he can be found in downtown Austin on 6th Street and the Red River live music district.
When he is not reading textbooks or magazines, he reads Marquez, Oscar Hijuelos, Junot Diaz, Tolkien and Mario Puzo when it comes to fiction. He also reads nonfiction that he can learn from, relating to business and marketing. Lately he has been beefing up on Hip Hop and rock books to add to his library as they serve as easy and quick reads for when he doesn't have a lot of time. Finally, Ian enjoys books about politics and sports.
