    Hello again, David --

Just wanted you to know I have my ticket to see Charles Bock at the L.A. Times Festival of Books this Saturday (on a panel with Janet Fitch, Richard Price & Scott Simon), which should be fun.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to read BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN yet...but it'll still be great to hear him speak. THEN I'll carve out some time to read it.

    Best to you,
    Justin

Thanks for writing back so quickly -- great news that you'll be back in August. Gives me time to read "Pasadena" & "The Rose City" before you and your new book arrive. Viken Berberian's "Das Kapital" and Carlos Maria Dominguez' "The House of Paper" are my most recent memorable reads. Both have strong literary styles and compelling stories. Thanks for adding me as a friend and I'll see you this summer in Pasadena.

    Hi, David --
I met you at Vroman's Pasadena in 2002 when you were out on the West Coast promoting "Pasadena." You signed my copy of "The Danish Girl" and we talked for a brief couple of minutes. I found you to be very generous and kind, funny and sharp-witted. I just recently (finally!) picked up a copy of your 2nd novel and then I find you here on Shelfari - does that count as an official synchronicity? Looking forward to your next visit out here (for your 3rd novel??) and plan to delve into "Pasadena" very soon. Can't wait!
