“I was introduced to Moneyball through a Harvard Business Review book review. The most notable comment in the review was that although it was a book about baseball, there were business concepts that should be leveraged. The reviewer understated him or herself.
I found Moneyball to be both entertaining and an outstanding example of a great Top 10 read. The constant theme surrounding the ability for the under-funded and under-talented (at least from a big name star valuation) to constantly compete and win when they weren't suppose to win provides many lessons for business leaders.
Along with business lessons, Lewis introduces the concept that innovation is a young person's field and that the "old guard" (scouts in baseball language) fail to recognize that the old ways aren't necessarily the best ways.
You'll find Moneyball informative and entertaining.”
