As an adult I worked for years in the film industry where I read scripts and as they piled up on my desk, the books never got a chance. After having a child I rediscovered books. Read it out loud to my daughter. Slow start (only because she kept falling asleep....) Once we got into the heart of it, we loved it. The controversy around the book/film sparked my interest. Maybe the next book will explain the ruckus. The book is a bit darker than the movie.

Actually one of my favorite of the Narnia books, I never did understand why it gets forgotten. I especially enjoyed the re-read with my child since I hadn't read it for over 30 years.

This is a book I read to Ciara last year and we feel in love with Sharon Creech. Hollywood takes the best for movies, surprised it hasn't snatched this up yet.

I am not Jewish, but this book made a big impression on my as a teenager. The inner struggle that Asher has in creating his l art was depicted so vividly that I read it several times.

This story really touched me as a young student in college. It really depicts the life of the Indian Reserves in Canada as I remember them. Not to mention the incredible ending.

I loved the poetry and sound of the words as the story unfolds and of course as in all Sharon Creech books, it touches the heart.
