You are never alone as long as you have a book!! It's a standing joke at the house that when the library recording calls to let me know in its masculine robotic voice that I have a reserved book to pickup that it's my boyfriend calling. LOL.

I will read just about everything except science fiction (*update 9/11/08 nothing futuristic, robots, fantasy, etc...), just not my thing (* but if vampires, werewolves, etc... are Sci-Fi I'm in.) My favorites are thrillers, mysteries, culinary mysteries, cook books, and biographies. My attempts at actually recreating recipes I've read aren't always successful because cooking to me is like chemistry, I've had a few discoveries (dips & cakes the most successful) and many explosions (where do I start?).

I like books that cause me to laugh out loud (My Horizontal Life), shed a tear (Love You Forever), or just make me think (Dead Man Walking) so I read whenever I get the chance---waiting in the carpool line; during lunch; sitting beside my husband while he watches a sporting event on TV; riding in the car but not while I drive; and late at night before going to bed.

I love peeking at other's shelves and discovering new books to try.
