    Hi Jim,
I didn't realize you are growing all those grapes. Have you made wine yet? Dave and I will be glad to help when it's tasting time!
I spend most of my reading time on news magazines--Time and The Nation, as well as the publication from "Public Citizen". My sister Helen got me started on Shelfari.
I hope you're coming to our Potluck, Movie and discussion of The Kite Runner on August 7th, I think at 6:00. See you there!

    hi james
i have read a few of Josephine Cox books, she writes mainly historical fiction with a romantic sub-plot running through them, most of her books would be classed as "womens fiction" but this one seems a bit more "mainstream"... i think the other book i added called "Journey's End" is the sequel to it.
i'll copy what is on the back of the book here for you:
    "The Journey"
Three strangers are thrown together by chance. It's an encounter which is destined to change all of their lives for ever. When Ben Morris comes to the aid of Lucy Baker and her daughter Mary, he is intrigued by their frequent visits to a local graveyard. Later, invited to their home, an old Edwardian place suffused with secrets of the past, Ben hears Lucy's remarkable tale - one she must tell before it's too late. Spanning decades, generations, and continents, it will stay with you forever.

    hi james :)
    good to hear from you!
oh, i agree that "You've Been Warned" was his worse ~ by far!
it didn't feel like a James Patterson book at all... where was the suspense and the 'twist and turns' that he is famous for??
i thought it was boring and predictable.
what is your favorite James Patterson book?
mine is "Lifeguard", i thought the plot was very clever... and i also liked "Honeymoon" which was a bit of a fun to read... the last one that i read was "The Jester", which i really liked ~ but it took me a long time to read it, which is unusual for me as JP is normally a quick read.
Speaking of quick ~ have you read "The Quickie"? I haven't yet, but have heard it is a good one.

Thanks for the recommendation! Others have recommended Mists of Avalon to me, but I haven't read it yet. I found a wikipedia entry on Clive Cussler & his books, which makes me even more excited about getting started on them. I'll have to wait til May or June, cause I'm pretty busy now!

Did you see the movie Derailed? Is the book better than the movie?

Hello James. The Book of Fate is about a Presidental aid who was disfigured by the assassin who killed the President's oldest friend. But years later he sees that the friend is alive. So he tries to figure out why. It's quite an adventure. He's trying to locate people who can give him answers, learning about secrets, trying to solve codes and puzzles, and all the while is being followed.

We have some books in common. I read & loved all of Dan Brown's, The Lake House, & The Eight. Most of your books I haven't heard of, but they look interesting, especially Clive Cussler's.

HI james! thanks for recommending Timeline. I've watched the movie that they made of it and i think i will enjoy the book more. About Black Cross, it's set during WWII with the Nazi developing some kind of toxic gas they intend to use against the Allies and testing it on Jewish prisoners. A pacifist American doctor and a jewish assassin were paired up to infiltrate and destroy the German camp. The book follows their mission. It's very good and gripping!
