I'm a school media specialist at a large urban high school in New Jersey. I also work part time as a reference librarian in a small public library. I have pretty eclectic reading tastes from YA, biography/memoir, general fiction, chick lit, mystery and romance.

This book isn't my usual cup of tea but it was more engrossing than I thought it would be. Although it is definitely a page turner it wasn't very well written. Many of the phrases were redundant throughout the book. I figured out who the killer was about 3/4 of the way through but there were a couple of twists I didn't see coming.

Alison Frankel has exhaustively researched the story of the 1933 Saint Gaudens $20 gold coin. The early part of the book gets bogged down with history of President Roosevelt's gold policies and details of the many players in this story. Once you get past that, this is a fascinating read. It might not appeal to general readers but anyone with either an interest in numismatics, history or collectibles will love it.

The beginning of the book is bit slow and awkward but if you can get through it, the rest is quintessential Kinsella. Like many other Kinsella heroines, Lara Lington starts off bumbling with a failing business and an even worse relationship. Enter in the ghost of her great Aunt Sadie and Lara is on the hunt to find an old necklace her aunt insists on having before she can pass on. Lara uncovers an old family mystery and winds up finding love at the end of the day. This was a great book and I found myself surprised by some of the revelations toward the end.

There is much controversy surrounding the factual accuracy of this book. The author readily states that Mark Zuckerberg and other key players from Facebook refused to participate and be interviewed for the book. Mezrich has also come under fire for fabricating certain facts and situations in his previous book Bringing Down the House.
Despite this, the book was an incredibly readable page turner. I read it in two days. The narrative flowed into an engrossing story of two Harvard outcasts who stumbled onto an idea that has turned into one of the most successful Internet companies in history. This book is great for those anyone looking for a quick read and who may not know much about the beginnings of Facebook.

This book is awesome!!!! Freeman Hall spent 15 years working in a high end department store selling handbags. This book chronicles his experiences with crazy customers, out of control managers and just about everything else someone can encounter while working retail. It was one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. If you like to read memoirs giving an insider's view to a particular industry (think Waiter Rant) this book is for you!
