    Imagine the possibilities when we allow love to be the food that nourishes our soul. By living from love we acknowledge the wisdom of the earth and enter a pure state of divinity. The temple of the earth is such that we are all blessed beings able to evolve our spirits and purify our hearts. Know that like sunshine through the tree of life you are a ray of hope for every person you come in contact with. Imagine!

    I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I liked The Girl Who Played with Fire even better. I just finished My Blue Sweater which was really good and I am reading Cutting for Stone. What is new with you?

    It would depend on the maturity of your students. There is one scene where the main character, Verdita sees her parents making love in the livingroom. Being naive, Verdita is quite shocked and then becomes angry with her mother. Verdita is also going through puberty so she's trying to figure out relationships and coming to terms with the changes in her body which will make her more "like her mother." She also is drawn to life in the U.S. but thinks about what she'd have to give up if she'd someday move away. Would life to better in the U.S.? The last part is how she steps up to the plate to help out when there is a family emergency. All in all, because it deals with issues kids think about, I think it would be a book I'd recommend to 9th graders.

    I can't imagine having CFF responsibilities plus run a library program! I definitely see the connection and we already do a lot of what a CFF coach does. Can you say "collaboration"?! It's just that our coach is out SO much at different CFF trainings. It would be difficult to run the library being out so much. It would be wonderful to be exposed to all the newest technologies through CFF.

    I'm following you on Twitter now. Please give me some other names of Librarians you think are good to follow.
    Jeannie is chair of PYRCA and the meetings are at her house. She's a lovely and gracious hostess. I really respect her! There are only 3 HS librarians on the committee to choose titles for the YA list, that's the reason for the wiki. I hope some others across the state will have some suggestions. I read YA all the time, but sometimes I go through a spell where I just haven't read anything outstanding...or it's by a non-North American author. (I also review for SLJ) It's the same with the others so we'd love some other input. If you read something you really like please let us know.
    How does it work with you being a CFF coach and Librarian? Are you wearing both hats simultaneously? Whoa, that's some job if you are!
    It'd be fine to mention the World Cultures list on Twitter.

    Hi Mary, I'm so glad to hear the site is helpful. It's great to be able to share like this. I really like the Destiny feature that allows patrons to add their own reviews. I'm planning to do even more with that next year. Do you do anything with Shelfari with your students? I just have my Shelfari linked from the Destiny homepage and from my Moodle site. Since you're also in PA I wondered if you participate in the Pa Young Readers Choice Award through PSLA. I'm on that committee and maintain a wiki for the YA portion so people across the state can participate if you want to check it out or nominate a title please go to http://payoungadult.wikispaces.com.

    A long Way Gone is being given to all new freshmen at NAU. For 10 years they have been giving the incoming class a book to read to foster a sense of community and give people something in common. The auther will be on campus in Oct. & Kathleen will get to see him!

    Hi Mary. Have you read "Snow Flower..." It's a really good look at old China. I loved it! Also, Widow for One year. I didn't think I'd like it but stick with it!
