Well, I can recommend a few brilliant Irish authors including Patrick McCabe, Joseph O'Connor, Edna O'Brien, Roddy Doyle, Maggie O'Farrell, Neil Jordan, Frank Delaney and Frank McCourt. I've only read one Mom Lit book so far and I liked it even though I don't have kids and won't. But I wouldn't want to scare you! LOL I love trilogies & series too and one of my favourites is the Arthurian Legend series starting with The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. I love the Vampire Chronicles series, the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (my fav!), and the new Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer too. I'll add Material Girl to my Plans to Read shelf!
Hi Renee! I'm pretty new to the chick lit genre although I'd read Bridget Jones's Diary and the sequel back in the late 90's and I loved them! However, after reading Daisy Dooley Does Divorce I am very interested in the genre and have bought several new books to check out. I just finished Jane Porter's Flirting With Forty and it's great Mom Lit, and I have P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, Left Bank by Kate Muir and Notting Hell by Rachel Johnson sitting on my shelf to read soon. I tend to love British and Irish authors because they have such a tremendous sense of humour! Yes I do want to read Jemima J by Jane Green and will look into some of the other popular chick lit authors too. I must say that DDDD by Anna Pasternak is exceptionally good and worth going back to the library for! :-)
