Jennifer - Koontz is good, at least what I've read. I prefer his newer stuff. He definitly seems to have some background in religion, though I'm not sure where. My guess would be Catholic, but it really is just a guess. I'm sure your husband will enjoy.

I hope you'll enjoy A Breath of Fresh Air as much as I do. I particularly enjoy personal glimpses into other cultures and this novel was a treat in that aspect. Just picked up Kindred and Their Eyes were Watching God this afternoon. Always a stack of good books close at hard!
