I love books. I also love cooking, hiking, running, my husband, kids, and dog. I'm not sure I could live without books.....My favorites are those modern writers. ...Hemingway, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, and those of that "Lost generation" I also love modern southern women writers and find Ellen Gilcrist, Flannery O'Connor, Eudora Welty, and Alice Walker to be fascinating. There is a romance to be found in the reading of these writer's works, and I am a sucker for romance. I teach high school English full-time and run 1-2 marathons each year, so I do not often have time for a novel. I love the opportunity to find little jewels in the short story and novela. I also find that shorter works are great for teaching-very time efficient. « less
