Barry Fell is very much worth a look! I've been searching for Cremo, but I live in a small town. I'll be going to Kelowna on the Victoria Day weekend (much larger city!) and I'll see if I can get his book there!

Fell's America BC is about ancient egyptian, mesopotamian, and other mediterranian culture's writing and the fact that farmers and ranchers across North America have been finding this writing along river courses for the last two hundred years - but as it doesn't fit into science's preconceived ideas about who visited what land mass first - the evidence is simply dismissed.
Farmers along the east coast of the US and Canada have also been finding stone "root cellars" for two hundred years - structures adorned with Celtic Ogham writing. This was dismissed as marks from ploughshares (the fact that it spelled out words and sentences a mere coincidence, certainly!)
    LOL!

hit Ted, thanks for the friend request. well, as for the life philosophy, I seek simplicity and order in chaos: maybe that's why it looks so succint...so, you say you are an author, what kind of books do you write?

Hello Ted. How lucky for you to have known your grandmother and had the opportunity to absorb the traditions of your ancestors. Yes, I do know CC, have read some of his books, but I find myself distracted and ocnfused sometimes by all the narrative. I almost wish he had just written straight metaphysics. Here is my favorite quote of his, which lives on my refrigrator: "Discipline as the capacity to face with serenity odds that are not included in our expectations. Discipline is a volitional act that enables us to intake anything that comes our way without regrets or expectations. Discipline is an art: the art of facing infinity without flinching, not because we are filled with toughness, but because we are filled with awe. Discipline is the art of feeling awe.' What do you think of that?

Hello Ted. Thank you for your note about the Gnostics. When I first read Pagels, I emailed her asking if she knew of any Gnostic groups in the US; that's how touched I was, as you seem to be. But what do you think of this: I've come to think that all religions turn to muck when they amass political power, no matter the beauty and purity of the original intention of the original seekers. As soon as the 'earthly kingdom' is considered important, the heavenly one falls out of reach.
By the way I like your shelf!! I haven't seen ACIM or Hay on anyone else's shelf in a while, how comforting and refreshing.

Hi again. Was wondering if you've ever read any of Dr. Andrew Weil's books. I've known people who swear by him and his healing ideas.

Hi. Welcome to Shelfari. I love it here.
Got your message. I write a bit of everything, but lately have concentrated mostly on poetry. What about you?
I am currently working on a mystery, but don't know if it will be a long short story or a novel. Hoping for novel. Had a poem published in Western North Carolina Woman magazine in August after it won honorable mention in their contest - judged by the NC Poet Laureate. First thing I've ever had published on its own merit and not just to fill space. (Still on cloud 9.)
I'll drop you a friend request. Always looking for new friends who can suggest new reads.
