I am a life-long reader and love to share that joy with other readers. The fulfillment I have from reading about other times, places, cultures is such an important part of who I am.

I am a life-long reader and love to share that joy with other readers. The fulfillment I have from reading about other times, places, cultures is such an important part of who I am.
I lived the first 10 years of my life in a VERY small town (less than 500 people). The library was a room in the fire station and open only on Saturday. I spent my Saturdays stretched out on the floor, reading. It's never changed for me ... I go very few places without a book with me. God knows what I would do if I got stuck in traffic for 5 minutes with nothing to READ!
I am a wife and mother of 1 daughter (11). I am relieved to finally have her out of a non-reading phase and into books again. I am spending way too much money on YA fiction right now - but I will gladly do it if keeps her interested. On the flip side, I am married to a man who has read ONE book in the entire 24 years I have known him! So much for a quiet evening, curled up on the couch, everyone reading......
I am an administrative assistant for a local school district and am involved in my community through Community Theater, my daughter's activities, Swim Team board, local charity board, church council. I lived in a community in northern Indiana about 4 times the size of this one, and I never felt a part of it. I like my small town but hate commuting 60 miles round trip to work every day.
I read a lot of different things.... mysteries, especially with female detectives; love Elizabeth Berg, Kaye Gibbons, Alice Hoffman; love vampires, witches, Steven King, Anne Rice; at the urging of my aunt I am trying to get into a little more historical fiction - she is a big Bernard Cornwell fan, lots of British history but I am more partial to Jean Auel & Michael & Kathleen Gear; I am also trying to read and re-read classics, such as To Kill A Mockingbird, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, working my way through Jane Austen.
My TBR list takes a notebook and I have gotten so many great ideas from reading the posts here.
I like folding a load of clean, warm clothes.... sitting on the deck after dark on a summer night ....... watching a great game - basketball, football, softball, swim meet.... the Indianapolis Colts ..... purple..... my daughter growing up ... sleeping in on Saturday or taking a nap on Sunday ..... Broadway musicals..... creating gifts for friends and family .......
I do not like talking about work when I am not there ..... dusting .... channel surfing - just pick SOMETHING and watch it! ..... my daughter growing up ........ not having enough shelves in my house for all my books to be out and around me ..... living away from my sister ..... people who drive too fast OR too slow ........ not having enough time to call my own.
