  • Getting It
    • Rated 4 stars

Another great YA read from Sanchez about a straight teen that enlists the help of a gay guy to give him a makeover and attract the girl of his dreams. He learns the true meaning of friendship and grows as a person. Sanchez perfectly captures the angsty and confusing world of teenagers.

The third and final installment in the Loon trilogy, the story mainly focuses on Hank and his journey into the ways of the loon society. Several male characters from previous books make appearances that, unless you’ve recently read them all, can get more than a little confusing. The first and second books are stronger, but this is still an enjoyable read.

  • Bareback

Woah! This erotic romance follows the exploits of ranch hands Jake and Tor. Not only is the sex extra hot, but the characters are believably flawed. You are drawn into their story. Really enjoyable.

  • The Price of Temptation
    • Rated 4 stars

Temptation is a gay regency romance about a playboy Earl and the “mousey” young man who tames him. Despite the lascivious bodice ripper cover, the story and the characters are finely crafted. It’s a fun, sexy and, most importantly, romantic piece of genre fiction. The author, as well as the writer of The Tin Star, are both straight women. I won’t get into a socio-political argument over hetero women writing m/m romance, but if all of them can write stories this entertaining, then I say bring it on!

  • Once A Cowboy (Harlequin American Romance Series)
    • Rated 3 stars

Coyboy Brodie’s life is turned upside down when sexy P.I. Alex tells him that he was switched at birth. He must deal with his old and new families and what it means to be Brodie Hayes. Well-drawn characters and a sweet/sexy storyline makes this an enjoyable read. The only down side was the final ¼ where a twist in a subplot came out of left field and an epilogue that was difficult to follow because it reunited a LARGE cast of characters from two previous books in this (loosely connected) trilogy.

  • Split Screen: Attack of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies / Bride of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies
    • Rated 4 stars

Russell and Min are back, this time they must each deal with the heartbreak of teenage love while working as extras on a movie that’s filming in their hometown. The flip book/two stories in one concept works really well as we get both characters unique perspectives on similar experiences.

  • A Virgin For The Taking (Harlequin Presents)
    • Rated 3 stars

A playboy CEO must share control of his late father’s pearl corporation with the woman he believes was his father’s mistress. She wasn’t of course and soon find out she is a virgin to boot! The hero is a rather cruel alpha male, but things in his past justify his harsh beliefs. He eventually begins to understand the truth about his family and the love he has for the heroine. The author strikes a good balance between the characters. Both are very strong and well matched. They butt heads a lot but are finally able to trust one another. A satisfying read.
