New Mexico would seem so quiet just now........Regards, Michael
no, it's not a minaret. it's the dome over a the main room of the mosque. there is a minaret on either side - dates from the 1400's, i seem to remember from when walking round it. you see glazed ceramic tiles on cathredals in eastern europe - places like st stephen's in vienna - and there are a couple in france. quite impressive the first time you see them used in that way. mosaics are common in gardens in that part of the world - used for fountains, pathways etc.regards, michael

what is it that makes us focus on something like mosaics? people are curious animals, aren't they?
