I have loved to read for as long as I can remember, starting with The Wednesday Witch by Ruth Chew in early grade school, to the entire Judy Blume collection in Jr High (practically a requirement for all girls in the late 1970's, early 1980's, along with having feathered hair and using Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific shampoo!). I continue to love... more »

In browsing friends' shelves, I noticed you're reading Love in a Bottle, and the blurb sounded good. Is it as good as it sounds?

I hope you enjoy Come Love a Stranger. I read all of Kathleen Woodiwiss' books years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Thank you for the review of Mayan Prophecies 2012. I saw it on your shelf and was considering reading it. I read your review and decided I wasn't interested. That's okay. I'm ten books behind in my wanna do list. Thank you!

Thanks for the invite. The reading club I belong to requires reviews to get certificate of reading from Univ. of AZ. Fortunately, I saved all my past lists so could get my books on Shelfari. Keep in touch.

Thanks for being a "friend." I love conversing with those who love the same types of books that I read.

You're right. This site is awesome! It helps connect readers from around the world. As an English teacher, it is nice to see that people still read books.

Thank you for the lovely compliments. Thank you for the friend invitation. Paranormal seems to be my genre of choice, so long as there is a mystery in there. Mystery is my main genre to read and then get to all of the subs under that.
I look forward to seeing your bookshelf and reviews.

Thanks so much for the invite and the review of my reviews! LOL! I really enjoyed "Heart of Stone" myself, and luckily enough, a friend found me the 2nd book in that series. YAY! I like the ongoing series, but only if they author can keep up the writing level; I tend to ditch them when the quality goes downhill. I also like trilogies and such because they have a definite end, even if I'm not always ready to say goodbye to the characters!

I'm reading quite a bit of non-paranormal stuff at the moment, but trust me, I'll be back to my "normal" reading quite soon. Just need a bit of a break, keep things interesting....

Good to share favorites. I gave myself the gift of attending a Brian Weiss Past Life Regression training intensive last year, in Austin, TX, and it was so amazing and opened up many doors. Now I am following suit having rebooted my training in hypnotherapy and related tools. I love it! Yes Richard Bach is a beloved favorite. Check out "Courageous Souls," by Robert Schwart. Also a big new favorite is "Living as Light," by Brent Baum. A friend just informed that it is not on Amazon, yet is available at www.healingdimensions.com. I trained in this work too, after discovering and loving it! Happy reading. Keep me posted on what you enjoy that is on this wavelength. Also love "Scarlet Feather" by Joan Grant, who wrote from her past life memories!

Thanks for the friendship request - love to. I looked through your shelf, and lo and behold! I was reminded of a book I absolutely loved and had forgotten to include on my shelf. Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Wiess - I've read this and thoroughly enjoyed it, twice. For a while, I was so taken up with the idea of life after life - still hopeful!

I'm sure you've read my profile and know I'm older, and read lots of different stuff, but love romance so much - I miss it (husband's gone), as he told me I would!

Yes, if you like nice warm love, Laverle Spencer's books are the greatest - I own all of hers and reread them every so often. I loved Elizabeth Lowell's stuff and until she changed genres I read them all, but romance authors began changing to thriller/mystery/romance and I lost interest in her. Maybe it's worth a try now - it's been a few years.

I'm unable to read vampire romance! Tried it just last night with the highly touted After Midnight by T. Medeiros and just can't do it. My mind will not give up the idea of what a vampire is. It's, to me, like loving a gargoyle! I'll try again another time, maybe. But I enjoy paranormal romance- if it's not too far-out; futuristic the same way. Historical, contemporary - love them, the sexier the better. I've traded on Paperback Swap, am in two challenges - so I'm learning the benefits of Shelfari, which one of my daughters introduced me to. I'm enjoying it so much.
    Again, thanks for the invite.

Dear Jennifer: I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April. It has received high praise from such literary journals as Booklist, ForeWord Magazine and the Midwest Review. If you enjoy reading a good thriller, you may well like HUNTING. The story revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother's death in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother's death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college in Boston. Now an archaeologist, she is recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to know who or what is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As a loyal Catholic, she is scared that what she finds may have devastating consequences for her faith. There is an awesome YouTube book trailer well worth watching to give you an idea of the power of the book. Thanks.
