Double post. Meh!
Words cannot properly convey how happy I am that you added Miss Rumphius to your shelf. Really, they cannot.
Good morning Christina! I saw you were a McCaffrey fan and wanted to invite you to a new group I have just put together! Here is the link:http://www.shelfari.com/groups/43659/aboutor search in groups for:Anne McCaffrey and All of Her WorldsPlease come and add your thoughts, I'd love to get this group going and start some good discussions!ThanksCam
Yes, but Ward Perkins seems to convincingly state a case that the Barbarians did in fact ruin civilization for 500 years or so. Apparently, there is a school claiming the Barbarians seamlessly merged with the Roman Empire to create a better European civilization.
I saw you read the Fall of Rome. I thought it was an interesting take on how the Fall of Rome meant no tiles, no pottery, no coins, no literacy, no commerce, a simple barter system, etc. and a rather miserable time for everyone. I guess the Dark Ages were "Dark" after all. Did you agree?
Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!
