I love to read, and sometimes I don't think I read enough. I have two bookshelves overflowing with books! I like a variety of genres inclusing Romance, memoirs, mystery, classics, and best-sellers. Favorite books include The Notebook, It's Not About the Bike, Jane Eyre, Little Women, My Horizontal Life, and My first Five Husbands.

I just finished The Lincoln Lawyer. It was the most exciting book I've read in a while.

Dear Alyssa: I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April by Kunati Books of Canada. If you enjoy reading a good thriller, you might like HUNTING. The novel revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother’s death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, she has been recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to discover whatever or whoever is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As an observant Catholic, she is scared that whatever she finds will have devastating consequences for her faith. There is a wonderful YouTube book trailer well worth watching if you have the chance. Happy Thanksgiving. Peter

I thought I'd answer your question on the board here (I'm new at this and I couldn't figure out how to respond to you there exactly). I couldn't tell from your shelf whether you read paranormal romance, but if you do (or are open to trying it) I highly recommend Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. I read Hostage to Pleasure this month and really enjoyed it, but you should definitely start with book 1 in the series (Slave to Sensation). They're really fantastic. As far as historical reads go, I definitely enjoyed Delicious by Sherry Thomas (the really scrumptious descriptions of the food helped) and The Charm School by Susan Wiggs. I've also been on a glom of Mary Balogh books, but some of her backlist is difficult to find for a reasonable price and I've found them to be a little hit or miss for me (i.e. I liked Heartless a lot, but I wasn't as impressed by Lord Carew's Bride).

Hope that helps and gives you some ideas.

Hi Alyssa, I have not read her books in yrs but becuase of her I fell in love with Historical Romance. Most of her early novels are 4+ Stars Shanna, Ashes in the Wind, The Wolf and the Dove are favorites. I will warn you the heorine can be put through some terrible ordeals (rape, abuse). I would recommend reading the blurbs at her website to see what plot and setting appeals to you. Note I have not read her latest works, and have heard not as good as the older works.

I like Elizabeth Lowell a lot but for me, no one compares to Nora Roberts! She is my absolute favorite! As far as must reads, my favorite Nora Roberts book is Midnight Bayou, definitely worth a read.
