Enjoy reading all kinds of books, but mostly Christian authors. Work outside the home part-time. Love to knit, enjoy working out and hanging with my family and friends.

Hi. I joined this site in late 2009 but got busy and forgot all about it. Now I'm trying to catch up my list of all of the books I've read. If you like Christian books, I wrote two in 2010. If you want to check them out, they are, "From Zero to Christian in Just 35 Years" and "Missing Andy: The Journey From Grief to Joy." See you around!

Sharon; I love Jamie Langston Turner and have read all her books I can get my hands on!! Wildflowers in my heart was one of my favorites. Also in that series, A Garden to Keep. I also loved Winter Birds. Hope you enjoy those as much as I did!!

    Barbara:

I've read several novels by Jamie Langston Turner. I just finished Some Wildflower in my Heart. It was an excellent story. She is perhaps the most literary Christian author writing today. She's extraordinary.

Hey, I loved The Good Nearby, Seahorse on the Thames, and most of the other books you just listed! You'll love them, too. Now as far as adding my book goes, it's on here (shelfari) under my name. Go ahead and add it. It'll make me smile.

I'm not sure how to do that since I am not the moderator.

Thank you for the recommendations on the 50 Book Challenge page! I have been kicking around picking up Girl with the Pearl Earring and Water for Elephants so maybe now is the time!

I read Kite Runner and really liked it...have you read A Thousand Splendid Suns? Also, if you liked Pearl Earring you might enjoy The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillippa Gregory.

People just want me to review the books and promote them so they come by the droves. I get up to ten books a week sometimes. It sounds great but it's not as great as you'd think!

Publishers, publicists, and authors send them to me. I keep some and donate others after I read them.

    Hi Barbara,

Responding about the Christian Chick Lit "What are you Reading?" thread: Some of my favorite Christian authors are as follows: Tracie Peterson (Alaska)- She also occasionally teams up with other authors. Gilbert Morris (Lone Star Legacy series) writes beautifully, well researched books that will make you want to read the whole series. Liz Curtis Higgs (Bookends)is good as well. I recently, enjoyed New York Brides by Pamela Griffin, which would be a fun summer read.

I have found some good reads in the bargain section of Christian bookstores and occasionally at big retailer Barnes & Noble. As you probably know, you'll have to check back with them frequently. We moved recently from an area with a great library with a huge inventory of books, and also a large inventory of Christian fiction. I have hopes that where we are now living the system will grow. Happy Reading from SC!

Hi Barb. I am on here at work because the parental control is still on at home. I don't want to transfer all my stuff at work so I will keep trying to get doug to take off the P/C. Once again, i could not look up "single" handle faucets today:-( Cabinet maker came today. It's really happening! Beautiful day. The daffs and forsythia are blooming.

Hi! I would love to read all day, but things like the laundry and cleaning keep getting in the way. No I'm not a teacher, wanted to be one at one time but never finished college. Ended up being a medical transcriptionist which enabled me to work from home, something I loved.
