Lord Foul's Bane is the first one in the series, so that should be the first one you read! I guess I liked that it was a little bit of a different take on fantasy, and also that I wanted to keep reading - which is usually all I ever ask of the books I read! I was annoyed at the main character at times, who can be a bit whiny, and I feel like the author sometimes overdid this and it felt...hmm...unnatural...but it didn't ruin it for me.
The Making of Psycho book was one of the best film books I've ever read. The book was descriptive in all aspects of pre, production, and post production of the film, and it's impact on the industry when it was released as well as its impact on society. I would definitely recommend this book as well as Truffaut's Hitchock interview book!
Thanks for the commercial. The Dreaded Synopsis is in the process of going into its thrid printing, so it's unavailable right now, but will be up for sale again very soon. Check the Writers' Bookshelf on my website. www.elizabethsinclair.com
