I live on an island and just learned to surf two summers ago. I teach yoga on the beach and I work in Marketing and Business Development for an accounting firm. I LOVE to read - just wish I had more time!!

I see you are planning to read Feiler's new book. Let me know how you like it. I know Feiler is a local and I wish him all the best. Walking the Bible is the only book of his that I've read, and I enjoyed his insights and writing style.

I love that his biggest formative influences (other than his mother, of course) are two deranged, high-brow hermits and a gang of wise-cracking drunks with soft spots in unexpected places.

I've placed a hold on The Tender Bar at the library. Your review of Wow! was enough for me to want to read it :-)

I went to see the production of To Kill A Mockingbird here in Savannah. It was very good and the girl who played Scout was amazingly talented. If you get a chance you should see it. I think it's playing through this weekend.

I recently finished Star Gazing and I see that you want to read it. Put it near the top of your list because it's a tender, wonderful read.

All I know about Andrew's new book is that it is called The Fixer Upper and it is due out in June. Don't know if it takes place in Sav'h or not. Did you get a chance to see her while she was in Tybee? I didn't even know about it until I read your post.

The cool thing about the short stories in Unaccustomed Earth is they do tie together in some ways....so you do feel like there is some what of an end. I do agree though that some of the short stories left me wanting more!!!
More snow here today.....I'm missung Georgia more and more every winter day!!!

I've read The Lady and the Unicorn and Girl w/Pearl Earring. I liked them both very much. I also read Wicked but didn't enjoy it (very dark and sinister). I don't think I'll continue with Maguire's books.
Yes, I do live in Savannah (southside off Whitfield Ave).

I love Tybee. What are you reading now? I am reading When Will There Be Good News by Kate Atkinson -- good but not great.

Hi YaYa. I found Shelfari a few months ago and came across this group today. My avitar may look familiar as it is the fountain in Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA. I took a look at your shelf, and it seems we like to read the same kinds of books -- we had 58 books in common.
