I have not read Salem's Lot or Desperation yet. I love "It", and I think the movie The Shining spoiled the book for me. I had seen it so often and for so many years that when I finally read it it did not stick in my head because Nicholson kept pushing it out.
Though I had problems with the ending of The Stand I loved the journey, It was great pretty much throughout, and Insomnia had so many great ideas (especially the geriatric hero). Those are my three favs.
Chad, we definitely enjoy the same genre. Here is my recommendation:
Look for JAKE by Nick Trempus - find it on Amazon.com .... this book is totally awesome and I guarantee that you will not put it down till you finish. The ending is a shocker - definitely equals anything Stephen King has written.
We seem to have some similar taste. I look forward to hearing what you think about the conclusion of The Dark Tower, because I think people will be studying a hundred years from now. I know some places already are.
I wish you would consider reviewing some of your favorite books. I might pick up the ones I haven't read.
By all means. Personally, I disagree with you but isn't that part of the fun?
You already got a message from Kim responding in the postive so, i'll throw my hat into that ring as well and say yes, post the discussion.
Happy to have you in the group by the way...
I have no problem with you starting that discussion in the King group. It should be interesting. I happen to think Duma Key may be in his top 5 so I can't wait to see if others agree with you. Thanks for asking first but pretty much if it's King related it's a go!
Thanks for joining in, that's what makes the group so great.
